Journeyman Lineman – City of Lake Worth
The City of Lake Worth invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Journeyman Lineman.
This position is based on a 40-hour workweek with an hourly pay rate of $35.74 to start. This position is
part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union. Working out of the Utilities
Building located at 1900 2nd Avenue North, Lake Worth, FL 33460.

SUMMARY: This is skilled journeyman level work in the construction, maintenance, extension and
repair of overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission lines and sub-stations in
accordance with standard trade practices. Employees frequently work at heights with high tension
lines under unfavorable weather conditions. Work is usually performed under the supervision of a
Line Foreman; however, employees may be assigned to emergency trouble spots, in which case they
work independently or with a subordinate. Work is subject to inspection by a Line foreman while in
progress and upon completion for quality and adherence to safety precautions.
