Instrumentation Controls Specialist – Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Highly skilled technical work in a 300 MW combined cycle power generation facility that includes complex, skilled, millwright and pipe fitting work at a "journeyman" level. Conducts inspections on various units and performs mechanical repairs to heat recovery steam generators, pumps, combustion turbines, steam turbines and other power generation plant equipment. Reports to, and is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. A minimum of five (5) years as a journeyman Power Plant mechanic with high-pressure steam turbine and boiler auxiliary equipment experience. Combined cycle plant mechanical experience is desired. A valid Florida Driver License is desired. When considering new job applicants, a comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
