Performs professional technical administration of employee health, dental, life and supplemental insurance programs. Responsible for the administration of employee training, development and compensation programs. Job tasks and functions require a hands-on approach. May act as the department vice president in their absence. Work is performed under general supervision. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.

Administers employee health, dental, life and supplemental insurance programs. Maintains related program files and records. Responds to health and dental program inquiries. Oversees benefit programs and may assist participants with the completion of appropriate paperwork. Participates in annual program reviews and makes recommendations for program improvements, cost containment and renewals. Arranges and participates in program open enrollments. Coordinates program affiliate site visits. Makes recommendations for all program changes and modifications. Reviews all program billings for accuracy and arranges for timely payments. Maintains and administers the employee compensation and pay plan programs. Reviews employee compensation changes for accuracy and compliance with established policy and practices. Coordinates, conducts and participates in annual salary surveys and recommends appropriate salary adjustments for all employee pay grades. Ensures the appropriate and timely updates of pay structures, pay grades and the pay plan as necessary. Conducts organizational structure and development reviews and makes recommendations for enhancements to support maximized efficiencies. Conducts reviews and makes recommendations on job reclassifications as necessary. Compiles, maintains and reports health and employee compensation program statistics as required. Participates in related meetings. Maintains all related files. Serves as a senior member of the human resources team and supervises assigned personnel. Acts as the department director in his/her absences. Conducts related health and compensation training programs as necessary. Assist with employee relations/conflict issues as necessary. May be required to respond to vehicle accidents and workplace injury notifications as necessary. Must be able to respond to company designated emergencies. All other duties as assigned.

Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to effectively administer employee health insurance programs. Ability to generate and maintain program files and records. Must have the ability to progressively coordinate multiple program activity. Must be able to apply effective logic and reasoning skills to support program reviews and assessments for modifications and changes. Must have a general knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Should have knowledge and skill for handling multi-million dollar health and compensation plans. Should have a general knowledge of processing statistical data and use of spread sheets. Should have excellent computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Great Plains applications desired. Must be able to effectively negotiate and strategize health and compensation elements with internal and external affiliates. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Must have a polite, cordial and approachable demeanor. Must be able to build and maintain relationships with employees, management and program affiliates. Must have a comprehensive knowledge and ability to administer complex compensation plans. Ability to manage and lead others. Project management skills desired. Must understand all aspects of labor and human resources related laws, regulations policies, principles and practices including, but not limited to NLRA, Title VII, EEO, ADA, and FMLA. Familiarity with Florida Sunshine Laws. Ability to travel as necessary. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, five (5) years ofexperience in the administration of employee health benefits, training and development, labor relations and compensation programs, two (2) years of supervisory experience, Society of Human Resources Manager - Senior
