Director of Electric – City of Leesburg
SALARY: $105,000 - $136,000 Annually
The City of Leesburg seeks a polished professional to lead, manage and plan the operations of the City’s electric distribution utility. This public power organization is a member of the Florida Municipal Power Association with 24,500 customers, an annual budget of $63 million and 45 employees. The primary functions of the position oversees the all-requirements wholesale supply agreement, while planning and managing the capital improvement and operations of an electric distribution system containing 5 substations, line voltages of 7,200/12,470, a system peak of 110 MW and 474,100,000 kWh of annual retail sales. The Director of Electric reports directly to the City Manager.
Position qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, any Engineering discipline, Public Administration, Finance, or closely related field, with eight (8) years of progressively responsible management experience within an electric or utilities industry. Professional Engineer registration with the State of Florida preferred. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment) and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
