Substation Relay SCADA Technician – Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Highly skilled technical work in the operation and maintenance of high voltage substations and SCADA Computer System. Works under the general supervision of the Electric Transmission and Distribution Superintendent but often has to work independently in complex situations and supervises a one or more person crew (when serving as person in charge).Position reports directly to Electric T&D Superintendent.
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited high school with courses in math and science. Satisfactory completion of an approved training course in electronics and/or electricity from one of the following: military, trade school or college, with four years of experience in substation maintenance, relay testing and SCADA Computer Systems. When considering new job applicants, a comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. An appropriate valid State of Florida Operator’s License with the ability to obtain a Class “A” CDL within three (3) months of date of hire. CDL License needed sparingly for emergencies

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Works outside with: chemicals; grease; high voltage electricity; ladders; heights; below ground level; poor lighting. Conditions may include rain, lightning, thunderstorms, storms.
