Event Details

Established in 2001 by the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA), the Florida Lineman Competition is where public power lineworkers come together from all over the region to demonstrate their skill and knowledge in the craft of line work. At the Competition, journeyman and apprentices can compete for professional recognition, attend training courses and practice essential skills in a safe environment.

Please note: One judge per journeyman team or one judge per three apprentices is required with registration. One banquet ticket is included per competitor/judge registration. Competitors must register before February 7, 2020.

Exhibitor Details

Exhibitor registration includes 6ft table, table cloth and 1 chair per representative for the Trade Show Wednesday evening and the Brief Business over Breakfast (reverse trade show) Thursday morning. To attend the General Sessions, Breakout Sessions, Building Strong Communities luncheon and the Florida Public Power Networking Dinner & Event please add (1) one additional conference function per representative.

All competition events will be held at the Tallahassee Auto Museum

Friday, March 13
9:00 am – Noon Field Exhibitors Trailer-truck check-in and set-up
1:00 – 3:00 pm Apprentices and Journeyman Teams sign-in
2:00 – 3:45 pm Judges registration and MANDATORY meeting: Master and Event Judges meet with all competition Judges
3:00 – 5:00 pm Welcome Reception exhibitors check-in and set-up
3:45 – 4:00 pm Apprentices and Judges report to Written Test room
4:00 – 5:00 pm Apprentice Written Test: MANDATORY for all Apprentices
5:00 – 7:00 pm Welcome Reception and Vendor Expo
Saturday, March 14
8:00 – 8:15 am Opening Ceremony
8:15 am Competition Begins
6:00 – 8:00 pm Florida Lineman Competition Awards Banquet
