Each member is allowed two representatives. The Board meets three times per year (April-Tallahassee, July-Annual Conference and December-Orlando) and is charged with overseeing FMEA’s direction.
Consists of member representatives working in every aspect of utility operations that comes in contact with customers, including customer service, key accounts, energy conservation, demand-side management, and public relations.
Consists of member representatives working in every aspect of engineering & operations, including transmission, distribution, generation and fuels.
Oversees the legislative and regulatory activities of FMEA. The committee meets on an as-needed basis, generally 2-3 times per year, usually in Tallahassee.
Individuals available 24/7 to discuss 1) needs of the electric utility after a storm or when another emergency hits their area, or 2) providing assistance – work crews, equipment and supplies – to other cities/utilities after an emergency.
Consists of member representatives charged with safely operating their electric utilities, including safety coordinators and safety directors. Meets quarterly at various locations around Florida.
FMEA maintians several special interest groups for the Municipal Electric Utility industry. In addition to specialized information sharing, FMEA also facilitates workshops and roundtables throughout the year geared toward these specific groups.
