Workshop overview
These regional workshops will provide utility distribution personnel with the information needed to develop a new security and loss prevention program or to review and update a current program.  The workshop first focuses on collaborating with local law enforcement in identifying processes for the reduction in the theft of cooper wire and electric service. Participants will learn how to identify vulnerabilities using a model developed by the department of energy.  The next step in the process is to consider security measures that address each of the vulnerabilities, including the cost-benefit analysis of the measures being considered.  The final step in the model used during the workshop is to evaluate the current crisis management capability.
