Workshop
overview
Hurricane season is almost here. As public power utilities, we have a responsibility to our customers to safely and efficiently restore power to their homes and businesses as quickly as possible after a storm.
Quick Assessment of Electric Utility System Damage
Get the overall “big” picture of damage to electrical transmission and distribution system by utilizing engineering and field personnel to quickly assess the damage. A quick assessment enables rapid and effective restoration in a safe and efficient manner. This training provides instruction on how to identify trouble areas and develop a restoration plan, determine man-hours needed, and develop a list materials needed for restoration.
After the Storm: Safety and Hazard Recognition
After the storm has passed and your utility has experienced damage to its electric system, how do you protect employees from injury during restoration efforts? This training provides safety and hazard recognition instruction to line workers, engineers and other restoration employees who will be involved in restoring the electric system.
Mutual Aid Roundtable
When used properly, the FMEA mutual aid program works well during times of disaster and need. This roundtable discussion will provide a forum to review procedures and network with fellow utility peers. When our customers are faced with major outages, it is vital that we communicate effectively so that we can provide and receive assistance quickly and efficiently as possible. Bring questions.
