Florida Linemen's Competition Results
Hosted by Lakeland Electric was held on March 28-29, the 2008 event included two days of training and networking for all participants.

On Saturday, March 29, Lakeland Electric hosted the eighth annual FMEA Florida Linemen's Competition. Teams and apprentices from Florida and Kansas and Louisiana electric utilities gathered at Lakeland Center to demonstrate their skills.

On Saturday, March 29, Lakeland Electric hosted the eighth annual FMEA Florida Linemen's Competition. Teams and apprentices from Florida and Kansas and Louisiana electric utilities gathered at Lakeland Center to demonstrate their skills.
The journeyman top three overall winners were team 104 (Brad Thomas, Glen F. James and Daniel Jester) of GRU; team 117 Dwayne Goostree, Chris Leggett and Eric Pickles) of Lakeland Electric; and team 108 (Mike Corbitt, Robert Hess and Greg Johnson of JEA.

For journeyman events, team 104 (Brad Thomas, Glen F James, Jr, and Daniel Jester of GRU placed first in the 12 KV Dead End Insulator Change Out. Team 117 (Dwayne Goostree, Chris Leggett, and Eric Pickles) of Lakeland Electric placed second and team 126 (Terry Cobb, Garrett Padgham, and Randall Crum of Tallahassee place third.

In the Arrestor Change out Capacitor Bank team 126 (Terry Cobb, Garrett Padgham and Randall Crum of Tallahassee placed first. Team 104 (Brad Thomas, Glen .F James, Jr and Daniel Jester of GRU ) placed second. Team 115 Colby Boggs, Ryan Romero, Ron Credeur and ALT James Miller of Lafayette Utilities System placed third.

Team 611 (Richard Burris, Lakeland; Tim Beard, Ocala Electric; and Roger Hull, OUC) came in second. Team 612 (Dennis Howell, City of Alachua; Jeremy Hayden, City of Ocala; and Nelson Rodriquez, OUC) came in third.
